The Empowerment Platform at empower.drmatt.com (the “Platform”) is owned and operated by Empowerment, Inc. with Dr. Matt James (“Empowerment,” “we,” “us”).
The Platform is a private tool for graduates of Empowerment, Inc. trainings. It is not a public website. Access requires an account we create for you based on your training standing. This policy explains what the Platform stores, where it is stored, and who can see it.
This policy covers the Platform only. The privacy policies at nlp.com and empowermentinc.com cover those websites.
Accounts are created by Empowerment, Inc. for graduates of our trainings. You cannot self-register. Each account is tied to your training standing, which determines which of the six products you can open.
Your account. Your name, email address, an encrypted form of your password, your training standing, and which trainings you have completed. We also record when your account was created and when certain access windows opened.
We store passwords using scrypt, a one-way function. We cannot read your password and neither can anyone else with access to our systems.
Your session. When you sign in, we store a session token in your browser and in our database so you stay signed in. It expires.
Your work in the instruments. The Values Evolution Profile, Change State Indicator, and Meta Programs and Values Inventory store your answers and your scored results so you can return to them and so your practitioner can review them where that applies.
Your work in the NLP Tools. The Aim Generator, Avatar Generator, Ideal Client Avatar, SMART Goal Generator, SMD Elicitation, SMD Mapping Values, and 4-Mat Presentation Generator do not retain your work. What you type is used to produce the output and is not stored.
Astrology and numerology. Birth date, time, and place, as you enter them, plus the charts and reports generated from them.
GNM Clinical Analysis. The clinical intake you enter and the reports generated from it. This may include health information about yourself or about a client you are working with.
BTS Copilot. Your session notes, the items you enter through the Discovery Process, and your progress through the 27 steps. These notes belong to you as the practitioner.
Coaching Engine. Records you create about your coaching clients: name, area of life, session dates, birth data if you enter it, prior session history, values elicited, assessment results you paste in, agreement details, and your own notes. Also the transcripts you submit for processing and the outputs generated from them.
Several products let you enter information about a third party: a coaching client, a Breakthrough Session client, or a person you are analyzing clinically.
You are responsible for that information. You decide what to enter. You are responsible for having whatever consent or authorization your jurisdiction and your professional obligations require before entering another person's information into the Platform, and for telling that person how their information will be handled.
We hold that information as a processor on your behalf. We do not contact your clients. We do not use their information for our own purposes.
If you work in a regulated capacity, or handle health information subject to HIPAA or comparable law, you should confirm with your own counsel that entering that information into the Platform meets your obligations. The Platform is a practitioner tool, not a certified clinical records system, and we make no representation that it satisfies any particular regulatory standard.
You see your own work.
Dr. Matt James, as the Platform owner, can see the account list, training standings, access states, and usage counts through an owner console. Where a product is designed so a practitioner reviews a student's results, that practitioner sees those results.
The owner console shows counts and access states. It is not built to browse the contents of your coaching client records or your BTS session notes.
Nobody else. Your records are scoped to your account in the database. Other account holders cannot reach them. We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train AI models.
Several products send what you enter to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a report, a synthesis, or a written analysis. This includes the Client Report, the GNM reports, the Astrology written reports, and every Coaching Engine mode.
What this means: the text you submit leaves our servers and goes to Anthropic for processing, over an encrypted connection, and the result comes back to us. Anthropic's handling of that data is governed by their commercial terms. Under those terms, Anthropic does not use data submitted through the API to train their models.
We do not send your name or email address along with the content. We send the content itself.
The Coaching Engine can write to your own Dropbox account. This is optional and off until you turn it on.
If you connect Dropbox:
We create a folder named Coaching Clients in your Dropbox,
with a subfolder for each client you create. Coaching Engine outputs are
written there.
We request permission to read and write files, and to read your account's basic metadata. We use it to create those folders and write those files.
We store the access credentials Dropbox gives us, encrypted using AES-256-GCM, with the encryption key held separately as a server environment variable and not in the database. We do not store your Dropbox password. We never see it.
The files are yours. They sit in your Dropbox, in your account, under your control. If you disconnect the Platform from Dropbox, the files stay. We do not delete them. We do not take copies for ourselves.
We do not touch anything else in your Dropbox. The
Platform reads and writes only inside the Coaching Clients folder
it creates.
You can disconnect at any time from the Coaching Engine page, which removes our stored credentials. You can also revoke access directly in your Dropbox account settings under Connected apps.
The Platform runs on Railway, a cloud hosting provider, in a United States data center. Data is stored in a database on a persistent volume attached to that service. Traffic to and from the Platform uses HTTPS.
Our processors are Railway (hosting), Anthropic (AI processing), Dropbox (file storage, only if you connect it), and Google (the email service that sends Platform notifications).
The Platform sends transactional email: results, report links, access notices. These come from Empowerment, Inc. at info@nlp.com. They relate to your use of the Platform. They are not marketing.
Account records are kept while your account is active.
Your work in the instruments and the products is kept so you can return to it, until you ask us to remove it or we close your account.
Dropbox credentials are kept until you disconnect.
See what we hold about you. Email info@nlp.com and ask.
Correct it. Email info@nlp.com.
Delete it. Email info@nlp.com and ask us to remove your Platform data. We will, subject to any records we are legally required to keep. This does not touch files already written into your own Dropbox, which are yours to manage.
Disconnect Dropbox. Anytime, from the Coaching Engine page.
Close your account. Email info@nlp.com.
We use scrypt for passwords, AES-256-GCM for Dropbox credentials, HTTPS for all traffic, and per-account scoping in the database so one account cannot reach another's records.
Transmission over the internet is never perfectly secure, and no system is immune. We protect your information as described here and cannot guarantee absolute security.
The Platform is for adults who have completed our trainings. It is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly create accounts for minors.
We will post the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. Changes take effect when posted.
